Two icons of women’s sports had a conversation at the University of San Francisco on Tuesday night.
And the result was an entertaining, empowering moment, fitting for Women’s History Month.
Billie Jean King, who is arguably — as John McEnroe once said — the single biggest influence in the history of women’s sports, appeared at War Memorial Gym with Jennifer Azzi. The discussion between the gold-medal-winning basketball player and the winner of 39 Grand Slams touched on issues of equity and influence, King’s childhood and her path to activism.
